A Black Eye for Women's Collegiate Soccer

This is a landmark occasion. Never before, and probably never again will we have a women's college soccer highlight shown in the pages of Maize & Blue Nation. That is of course unless its the Michigan women's soccer team that makes us take notice.

But this is not really a highlight, more of a lowlight...very low.

In the game between BYU and New Mexico in the Mountain West conference semifinal, things got a little dirty when a New Mexico Lobo, #15 Elizabeth Lambert decided to take matters into her own hands when her team fell behind by one goal. I don't know what she was thinking when she was tormenting the BYU players, but I have a feeling that at the time, neither did she.

I'll just let the Sportscenter crew take it from here...
