Recruitaholics: Just Doo It...Doo It

This Week: 2013 New Commit Style, Commits in Action, Prospects in Action, 2014 News, and Northwestern Visitors

2013 News Commit Style

Hoke and company picked up a commitment from WR Da'Mario Jones on Wednesday.  This makes Jones the 23rd commit of '13 class, only adding to the ammo of the #3 ranked recruiting class in the country.  If you weren't able to catch my analysis of Da'Mario's commitment (I was a day late, so you're excused), please do so, but also check out Tremendous breaking down different aspects of his game for ya.

Commits in Action

DB Channing Stribling added another interception to the bank.  He also recorded 4 tackles and 1 TD on offense.  That gives him "around 6" on the season according to TomVH.  You can see a few of them in his senior season highlight below:

TE Khalid Hill wants you to watch his highlight tape so...

Brandon Hunter, a Correspondent Intern for State Champs! Network, was on hand taking in the second round match-up between Detroit Cass Tech and Dearborn.  Cass Tech pulled away with it in the end winning 42-23 and advancing.  Check out Hunter's analysis of the victory, with DB Jourdan Lewis (1), DB Dame Webb (2, below), and QB Jayru Campbell (10) being mentioned.

Some other notable stats included Cass Tech's two headed monster that leads this rushing attack, '14 RB Gary Hosey (8), who was impressive rushing for 200 yards and 2 TD's and '15 RB Mike Weber (25, below), who topped his teammates effort posting 218 yards and 3 TD's.  You'll see the damage they caused along with everyone else mentioned above, in the highlight below:

Lastly, see what Cass Tech's head coach Thomas Wilcher had to say about how the recruitment of some key player's has been going:

'14 OL Denzel Ward actually played on the other side of the ball over the weekend.  And he did mighty well: 2.5 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 FF.  Ward then went to twitter saying he had only allowed 1 sack all season long!!  I'd say the potential is starting to show about now.

Prospects in Action

Our buddy OL Logan Tuley-Tillman, who has dropped down to 285 lbs.(!!), put this guy (picture) together for us and Mr. Treadwell could only describe this with one simple word, "Amazing!!"

It's playoff time though baby!!  And WR LaQuon Treadwell did not let the pressure get to him.  He actually embraced it with a stellar performance.  He helped his Crete-Monee HS (IL) move into the second round on Friday in a big way (Nwitimes.com has the breakdown along with photos) by dominating all aspects of the game: 7 catches 85 yards, 34 rush yards, 2 TD's, and a 50 yard pick 6.  Getcha' some kid!!

Treadwell was also featured as the top player in the Midwest area in 247Sport's most recent addition of "Battleground Recruiting."  There's a few other names you will be interested in that Gerry Hamilton mentions.

RB Derrick Green may just be beast mode jr.  He had 4 more TD's to add to his huge basket full of who knows how many touchdowns at this point.  I quit counting a long time ago.  To many to keep up with.  Green also had some other intriguing news over the weekend.  Take a look:

While the U is not a huge threat at this point, it definitely shakes things up a bit.  Lastly, see what Steve Wiltfong has to say about Green's recruitment and how it may come down a surprise finish:
“This campaign has a chance to end with the biggest surprise. Nobody is sure who the true leader is. Michigan is in a good spot as the Green camp told 247Sports his latest stop in Ann Arbor, an official visit over Oct. 19 weekend was another great trip. He took an official visit to Tennessee the weekend of Sept. 14 and word out of Knoxville is the Vols are still in the fight. He’s scheduled to visit Auburn on the weekend of Nov. 9. The Tigers were always figured to be one of the leaders but will their struggles this fall hurt in the Green race? Can Oregon make a major move when Green visits the weekend of Nov. 17? Ole Miss is still involved, Will Green eventually be a Rebel? This one’s impossible to call at this point as the Green party still collects all its data.”

2014 News

Rivals has started to release it's "Class 2014 First Five-Stars" one by one over the next few weeks.  Good news for us Wolverine fans on who the first to be named is...S Quin Blanding Blanding has been a name to watch out for in 2014 (I had a feature on him (w/highlights) not to long ago when he was offered by Hoke and company) for a while now and see why the Rivals staff decided to don him the first 5-star listed:
"Blanding is a fluid athlete who is effective in single coverage, covers a lot of ground as a safety and is a big hitter coming up in run support. Blanding has an impressive knack for always being around the ball. He is fast and athletic enough to play on offense in college, but he knows his strength is on defense and loves to hit. He's a jumbo safety who could play strong or free and is a big play waiting to happen. He reminds me quite a bit of Cal star Keenan Allen out of high school with his smooth athleticism and range."
And some video evidence as well as some analysis from Mike Farrell:

But I know I'm forgetting something here....O yea!!  Michigan made his top ten list! (Probably should've lead with this huh?  I like to keep ya on your toes).   The Wolverines are joined by Virginia, FSU, UNC, Ohio, ND, WVU, Miami, Clemson, and NC St.

'14 WR Derek Kief gives us an update of what his (hopeful) plans are for the next few weeks regarding visits:

Kief also has released a highlight tape of his junior season. Kid can get up!:

Look at the background of '14 OL Orlando Brown's picture below, on the left side.  Lots of Michigan stuff all over the place:
