Grant has the prototypical body frame to play tackle at the college level. He is very athletic for a kid almost pushing 300 pounds and, has most of the tools to become a very good offensive lineman in the future. His big frame takes up a lot of space on the left side of the line. Grant uses his arms well to keep defenders back. Possesses good footwork and can shift side to side quickly. Has a second gear that he uses well to set up blocks in running plays. Grant is more suited as a pass protector as he is better in pass protection than run blocking. Being a very “raw” prospect, Grant will have to fine tune his game. He has a very high ceiling prospect and, could end up as one of the better tackles in the Big 10 once his tenure at Michigan is over.

Grant already has an advantage over a lot of kids in high school. He’s spent high school in a boarding school in New Jersey away from his home in Virginia. He has lived on his own now for a couple years and the transition for college shouldn't be much different.

Newsome will likely need to add weight but, not to his top half. His lower half is much smaller than should be. A redshirt in his freshman year may be beneficial for weight gain and learning the playbook reasons. With freshman Mason Cole already on the roster, we may have found our two tackles for the next two/three years with Newsome and Cole.
