Hoke Names Fitzgerald Toussaint Starting RB

Not that it will really impact the game at all because I expect to see a lot of running backs tomorrow...but...

Sophomore Fitzgerald Toussaint has been named the starting RB for the season opener against Western Michigan [HT: AnnArbor.com]. According to this week's two-deep which was released a few days ago, Toussaint was listed along with senior Michael Shaw as the two possible starers for this Saturday.

Toussaint saw action in 6 games last year. He had 8 carries for a total of 87 yards. The bulk of which was 66 yards against Bowling Green, in what can only be described as a break away run during clean-up time in the second half. That 61 yard scamper, his first ever collegiate carry, followed by a 5-yard TD run where the highlights of his 2010.

Shaw, the incumbent, had 75 carries for 402 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2010 as Michigan's 3rd leading rusher behind Denard Robinson and Vincent Smith.

Also, JT Floyd has been named the starter at CB opposite Troy Woolfolk. He beat out Courtney Avery for the gig.
