Recruitaholics: Man, We've Got Some Funny Coaches

This Weeks Dose: McQuay III Update, The Highlights Never End, Offers, and Sayonara Suckas

I know you've been patiently waiting for the new update and I thank you for that.  This is only the first half as there was so much info I didn't want to squeeze it all into one article.  Will have an in-depth look at how the biggest visit weekend of the year went last Saturday along with a few other tidbits.  So don't forget to check back tomorrow for Dose #2.

McQuay III Update

S Leon McQuay has been busy taking visits and trying his best to figure out where he wants to play his college football for the next 4-5 years.  Here's some news regarding the 5-star's decision date:

I am a little surprised to hear this since McQuay III has already taken all his official visits and is planning on enrolling early.  But there was some good news in an article from Sam Webb, who caught up the McQuay family.  Mr. McQuay on Michigan's chances:
"I wouldn't be surprised if he chose Michigan," his father said. "The defensive coordinator basically sat us down and walked us through how he is going to be used. If that actually holds true, he is going to be lining up in different spots. He is expected to make plays. He has been labeled a playmaker. That's a lot of expectations, but Mattison has been doing it for a while so I'm pretty sure he can look at somebody and tell exactly what he is going to get out of them."
And what McQuay III had to say about Coach Hoke and his staff:
"Coach (Brady) Hoke is a real cool dude," McQuay III said. "Laid back. You wouldn't think he is a head coach if you didn't know it. Just a real cool dude. Coach Mattison is funny. I like him a lot. He is energetic. He is just a real good coach. And Coach Montgomery is a good coach too. All those coaches are funny, man. I just like them."

Offers

A new offer has gone out to '13 OL Dan Skipper, who is only 6'10 by the way.  Pretty small for a OL (sarcasm).  "Skip" is a current Tennessee commit, but the firing of Coach Dooley and his staff has him looking around.  He also visited this last weekend and came away very impressed.  Will have more tomorrow on how all the visits went last weekend.

'13 S Marcus Ball is a current Wisconsin commit who was offered by Michigan last Sunday, a week before he would make an official visit to AA.  More to come tomorrow regarding visits.

An interesting offer was extended to a teammate of current commit, Taco Charlton'14 LB/DE JaeSean Tate is already committed to Ohio on a basketball scholarship (also had one from UM), but I like that the football staff is trying to get involved and pry him away from the buckeyes.  I don't feel it's likely to happen.

'15 WR George Campbell is only the 2nd '15 prospect to receive an offer from Hoke and co. (KY RB Damien Harris was the first).  He is the high school teammate of OL Mason Cole and WR Artavis Scott.  Tremendous was able to catch up with the big receiver to get a reaction to the recent offer:
"I'm really happy to get an offer from Michigan, especially knowing I'm only the second player they've offered in the class. It means they really believe in my abilities and must know I can become a great player. I'm actually looking at visiting Michigan for their basketball game against Ohio State (ED: February 5th) with Mason (Cole) and Artavis (Scott). Both of them have had nothing but great things to say about Michigan and now I want to see it all for myself".
Cole currently has Michigan as his leader;  Scott and him have been said to be a package deal and that would be huge in helping land Campbell.

Sayonara Suckas

'13 OL Kenny Lacy was a hot name following David Dawson's de-commitment and even got an offer and had a visit planned for last Saturday.  He had to cancel his visit and has now stated that he is a firm UCLA commit and will no longer take visits.
