Incoming: Csont'e York

The 2013 recruiting board is up and running here.

Csont'e York

Rivals: NR WR
Scout: ★★★, #67 WR
ESPN: NR WR
24/7: ★★★, #69 WR

The 18th commitment to the 2013 class is a 6-3, 190 lb. wide receiver prospect out of Harper Woods, MI. Csont'e (pronounced: Son-tey) York is exactly the type of receiver Michigan is going to need going forward as we transition from the Denard Robinson style offense to a Shane Morris style offense. He's not a burner, but he big and tall with solid hands. That should now be considered the norm for receivers at Michigan going forward.

He's a bit under-the-radar in terms of guru ratings. ESPN and Rivals don't have ratings up yet for York, but Scout and 24/7 do, and they peg him at a 3-star prospect. Ace from mgoblog says:
Chandler Park isn't exactly a football powerhouse, however, playing in Michigan's Class B in the Charter School Conference, so he fits the profile of a sleeper recruit. Every service but Scout lists York at 6'3", with his weight at 185-190 pounds (Scout says 6'2", 180).

York really burst onto the scene in recent weeks, earning offers from Michigan, Cincinnati, and Syracuse within the last 48 hours by excelling on the camp circuit.

I really like the York pickup for this class. He's not the 4-star type recruit we've been used to in this class, but that could change as York is relatively unknown by most gurus. Plus I like that he's a local prospect that was sort of "discovered" by this coaching staff. Expect many more offers to come his way now that he's committed to Michigan.

Other offers
Bowling Green, Cincy, Syracuse and Toledo.
