Strength and Honor: Michigan Football 2011

It's been a long time coming, but I finally did it. I finally melded my blogging life to my professional life. By night, I crusade as a Michigan blogger. But by day, I edit video. I've been on the fence about doing a "hype video" for about 3 years now. I've always had this idea about blending images of Michigan Stadium with music from my favorite movie, Gladiator.

This was inspired by pics of the Big House by Flickr user Dave Bloom, and of course the "Gladiator" score by Hans Zimmer. Once I had all these pieces, I knew I had no choice. I was introduced to Dave's work via the newly formed mgoblog photopool, which if your not a member of, you should be.

I titled this "Strength and Honor", which most fans should know is an important quote from the movie, is also the title of this piece of music, and is featured prominently in the Michigan locker room. I would assume this stems from the friendship formed between Lloyd Carr and Gladiator star Russell Crowe in 2007 [YouTube].
