Outgoing: Blake Countess

Via Blake's Instagram:
My past four years here at the University of Michigan have been great! Nothing but love and appreciation for Ann Arbor, the faculty, the coaches, the support staff and the great fans but after many sleepless nights and much prayer I have decided to play my final year of eligibility elsewhere. I truly thank those that have been there for me and hope you would continue to do so. #ForeverGoBlue
So, that's that.

Not sure what went down, but unlike the Norfleet situation, this doesn't appear to be disciplinary issue at all. Its easy to jump to conclusions about playing time and/or chemistry when there's a new coaching staff and that's could be some of it. Plus add in the fact that Michigan just brought in Stanford graduate transfer CB Wayne Lyons this week and, well, that was probably what did it.

For Michigan, this hurts. The secondary is relatively deep…but that's mainly due to guys like Countess. Never a good thing when you lose a returning senior starter.

Best of luck to Blake in wherever he ends up.
