The Future Huddle- Roseboro's Top 10, A Possible Transfer, New Offers, and Other Notes

Which Michigan Target announced their Top 10? Could Michigan be in line for a rare Transfer? Which prospects received an offer this past week? Which prospects will be visiting Ann Arbor this summer? Find out in this Fridays version of The Future Huddle

Darian Roseboro announced his top 10 via twitter on Wednesday.
No surprise here that Michigan makes the cut. Roseboro has been on campus numerous times throughout his recruitment and has thoroughly enjoyed himself. Michigan has put themselves in a very good place to land Roseboro and I think his recruitment will come down to a battle of Michigan vs North Carolina State; with Michigan coming out on top for his services.
Shortly after announcing his Top 10, Roseboro had some good news for Michigan fans tweeting out;

“Heading to Michigan in July! For another Visit.”

Hopefully by this point Roseboro will remember Coach Hokes name.

Ty Isaac was released from his scholarship from USC claiming he wants to play closer to home/family circumstances. At first it seemed like Notre Dame would be his likely landing spot as they recruited him hard while still in high school; but reports have surfaced that USC gave Isaac a list of 17 schools they would release him to and Notre Dame was not included. Isaac will be travelling to Champaign, Illinois this weekend to check out the Illini campus. Ty will narrow his school list down shortly, as he would like to be in summer practices. Northwestern, Illinois, and Michigan are schools Ty has shown interest in enrolling at. Isaac rushed for 236 yards and 2 touchdowns on only 40 carries in 2013. He has three years of eligibility left.

Michigan has stepped up their recruitment of 2016 RB Kareem Walker lately. Coach Roy Manning paid the 5 Star RB a visit this week and Walker seems to be getting more interested with Michigan. Walker spoke to 24/7’s Steve Lorenz about a possible visit to Michigan;

"I'm gonna go up there once Jabrill makes it to campus," he said. "He's been talking to me about Michigan for a while. He keeps telling me how great of a school Michigan is and that it'd be a good fit for me. He likes the coaches there a lot and says Michigan is ready to rise back up again. He also talks a lot about how the coaching staff turns their players into men."

Michigan offered 2015 Safety Rashad Roundtree on Monday afternoon.
Rashad is ranked as the #6 Safety and #63 across the nation according to 24/7s composite rankings. He holds an impressive offer list including; Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, and Florida.  On Wednesday, Rashad announced that he will be releasing his Top 5 schools next week. With this news, I think Michigan was way too late to the party for Rashad’s services and he will likely end up staying in the south for his collegiate career. And No, Rashad isn't related to former Wolverines Roy Roundtree.

More and More Offers Abound:

2016 DT Kendell Jones was offered a scholarship on Wednesday. Jones is ranked as the #5 Defensive Tackle and #21 overall in the 2016 recruiting cycle according to 24/7. Jones is an absolute beast for only being a sophomore in high school. He tallied 22 tackles with 9 for a loss and 3 sacks as a freshman for his Shoemaker High School team.  Jones’s Hudl highlights can be viewed below.

While still in Texas, the coaching staff extended an offer to 2016 DT Michael Williams.Williams has a short offer list that includes Kansas State, Oklahoma State, SMU, and Tulsa. In 2013, Michael had 60 tackles, 8 for loss, 1 sack and 1 forced fumble. According to Brian Perroni from 24/7, some schools would like to try Williams out on the offensive side of the ball. While Michigan has no plans to recruit a DT in the 2015 cycle, it’s good to see their getting a head start on DT’s for 2016.

On Tuesday, 2016 Wide Receiver Justin Layne received his scholarship offer. Layne is ranked as the #18 WR and #88 overall prospect for 2016.  Layne is a very athletic prospect, as a freshman he played QB for his Benedictine High School team. As a sophomore Justin saw playing time at Quarterback, Wide Receiver, and Safety.  You can view Justin’s Hudl highlights by clicking here.

Other Notes:

Current Commit Shaun Crawford will be visiting Notre Dame this upcoming weekend and Ohio State at the end of the month. This is a very sticky situation for Crawford. He hasn’t de-committed yet, but Michigan will more than likely look for someone else to fill his spot for now. Michigan surely won’t turn their back on him, but they have to do what’s right for the program and can’t have a spot left opened. Crawford was very interested in Notre Dame before he committed to Michigan and has said previously, that if he had received an offer on his first visit there, he would have committed.

2017 RB Todd Sibley Jr. announced via twitter that he will be attending Michigan’s summer camp this year.

2015 RB Jacques Patrick will be announcing his college decision October 27th. Michigan has stepped up their recruitment for Jacques over the past few months as it looks less likely Damien Harris will end up coming to Michigan.

2015 OT Grant Newsome announced he will be visiting Michigan this upcoming summer. Grant will also be visiting Penn State this summer.

2015 LB Darrin Kirkland Jr. will be on campus this upcoming weekend.
There have been a lot of Crystal Ball changes lately with Michigan now being a 56% favorite to land him. I don’t think he commits this weekend because he has already set an announcement date but, if the visit goes well enough, it may be too much ground for other schools to make up.

2015 TE/DE Jake Pickard was visited by Coach Manning on Thursday. Pickard does not yet posses an offer from Michigan.

The coaching staff was also in California to visit 2015 DE Keisean Lucier-South on Thursday.
2015 DE Josh McMillon leaked some of his top schools via twitter on Thursday night. Michigan, Alabama and Auburn all made the cut.
2016 DE Jonathon Cooper and DE Khalid Kareem will both be attending Michigan’s summer camps later this year.
