Stefanie Spielman Dies After 10 Year Fight Against Cancer

Without getting too much into it, we here at MBN are saddened to hear about the death of Stefanie Spielman, 42, wife of former Ohio State linebacker and former Detroit Lion Chris Spielman. [Link to story]

Stefanie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998. Shortly after, Chris put his NFL career aside to be with his wife during her courageous fight. Together they not only raised awareness, but millions of dollars for cancer research.
“Through her remarkable grace and compassion for others, Stefanie Spielman taught all of us powerful lessons about the human capacity for love and courage,” said Ohio State President E. Gordon Gee. “She was an extraordinary person and one of the University's firmest of friends. We were deeply proud to be able to celebrate her accomplishments, and those of Chris and their wonderful family, during a ceremony at one of last month's football games. I was blessed to know Stefanie, to witness her good work, and to count her as a friend. We will miss her mightily.”
If you wish you send an online condolence, you can do so here.

If you wish to make a donation to the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at the James Cancer Hospital at Ohio State, you can do so here.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Spielman family during this time.
